Down but not out

This tree was 90% blown over in a storm over 12 months ago. For quite a while it didn't look as though it would survive but a few roots are still anchoring it to the edge of the lake.  What was interesting today was the number of shags sitting on the branches (see extra) I have never seen them here before but they do nest in a couple of other trees nearby.  I will be watching with interest to see if they start building their nests here as it is in a much better position for photographs.
