Is this really how to spell icicles?

Icicles. Just does not look right to me. It must be, my computer has not underlined it in red.

I passed this hedge on thursday and this caught my eye, mainly because out of the 3 or 4 miles of hedge this 10 foot section is the only bit to have icicles on it. As I was taking a few shots a car drove past and through a puddle throwing more dirty water onto the ice which explains why its only here the ice has formed. It is a strange thing to see.
