Sweet Sixteen

(The one on the left). Yes, it’s Basil’s significant birthday today. We went for a birthday walk first thing but otherwise have spent it quietly at home, in his case sleeping  interspersed with eating and wandering round the garden. Talking of sleeping, I got some self-cooling dog mats from the petrol station and Basil sleeps on them all the time now, presumably because they give him relief from his various aches and pains. That was £10 well spent, then, as at his stage of life it’s all about keeping him as comfortable as possible.
