Formally a family member
Cat has been to visit the vet. She has been immunised, chipped and passported and so she is both now officially named and officially our responsibility.
I may forget to call her Chloé and revert to Cat from time to time.
She was also blood tested and found free from FIV and FEV, which is a great relief. What was a tad worrying was that the vet could find no scar evidence to support the theory that she is already neutered. He said to watch out for her coming into season. I shall need to Google that one.
He estimates her to be around 3 years old. I had guessed at 4 as she seems quite youthful still. Three years is not a long time to have fitted in such an eventful life as hers. However it is more than long enough to have proved her fertility several times over, though she shows no signs of having littered and so we continue to trust in the rumour that she was caught and neutered at some point in the past.
When they came home, Chloé dashed straight upstairs and onto our bed. She is now completely zonked and could not care less about the presence of another cat in the house. It is peaceful at last.
