Unable To Get Up
My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,
I intended to get up and go to work today, really I did. But I just didn't feel good. Just blah and vaguely unwell.
You know. That sort of kinda sorta under the weather where you COULD go in... if you were really bothered...
Ah eff it.
So I texted off sick which is brilliant. I love emailing and texting off sick because you don't have to call in and talk in a brave-yet-weak voice to your boss anymore. Calling in sick sucked. Young people are so lucky. I'll bet you could even Tweet or Instagram in sick these days.
I do hope they don't include selfies.
Cazza was due back from Waihi today. So I had to text her to tell her not to freak out and think I was a supernatural serial killer from an 80's slasher movie when she walked in and sensed another person in the house.
This happens a LOT. Cazza is very jumpy. If I come home from work early I have to be sure to make a lot of noise and shout, "HELLO! FOR IT IS ME! YOUR HUSBAND! NOT AT ALL A SERIAL KILLER OR JASON VORHEES OR ANYTHING!"
She STILL sh*ts herself if she's been listening to music and misses all of my performance though.
So I spent the day watching old thrillers. I watched one with Sally Geeson called "Fear In The Night". It was one of those films where there's a woman who is terrified but no-one believes her and keep patting her hand and saying things like, "I believe you THINK you were attacked."
Sally Geeson, I can teach you some REALLY BAD WORDS for people who do that.
Watching old 70's movies makes you realise how far we've come sometimes. I mean, it's not like men are not still patronising, but you wouldn't get away with making a film in which a woman is told to Stop Being Silly by a man anymore. Especially when he goes and packs her straight back off to Spooky Scary House with an admonition to pull herself together.
Cazza got home at 3.30pm and the boys ran around in circles in sheer excitement for an hour. They love me. But they LOOOOOVE Cazza.
