Between Storms
Posting a day late for Saturday
When we got up this morning it was cloudy and damp and before long it started sprinkling....which was quickly followed by thunder and lightening and pouring rain. It continued for for at least an hour and we had water pooling in our campsite. There was really nothing we could do so we decided to go out for breakfast. By the time we got back it had stopped and most of the water had soaked in. After that the day was really pleasant. We had another decadent dinner and then walked down to the lake for the sunset. I liked this shot of Darrin and his fishing pole.
After sunset we were sitting around the campfire and it started to get windy and it felt damp. I decided to go to the restroom before it started raining. I was gone for less than 5 minutes and in that time a huge gust of wind had come up and totally destroyed our EZ Up. The awning on the RV was flapping like crazy and Darrin and Pipersdad were holding it to try to keep it stable. I got back just in time to to retract it before the wind tore it off! So then we had no shelter outside and it started pouring again. It was quite a scene! We were gathering everything that had been outside and putting it in the RV as quickly as we could. We managed to save everything and get ourselves inside before we were too soaked. Then it was over as quickly as it started. Crazy mountain weather!
Many thanks for all the comments, stars and hearts for the last few days. I'll respond individually tomorrow.
I am grateful that it was our $50 EZ Up that was destroyed and not our much more costly electric awning on the RV!
