Dalmeny Parish Church
After church today we drove to South Queensferry to have lunch with young friends in their new house.
Only a short walk away is the Dalmeny Parish Church which with its outstanding architecture is said to be the most complete example of a Norman parish church in Scotland built around 1160.
As we walked in we were struck by the beautifully lit chancel arch and stained glass windows . We chatted with the gentleman acting as guide and learned more about the history of this ancient building- we also discovered that his wife came from our town and used to have a dress shop there. Needless to say Mrs AMK remembered buying a dress from the lady !
