Nouveau cirque

The circus has visited our neighbouring town. Of course we went there. It is not a traditional circus, but nouveau cirque. ( It is a combination of different art forms. It is dance, theater, music and often a story or a red thread through the performance. There are no standalone acts or any animals shown.) I do not know the English word for it, maybe "contemporary circus". 
All the artist both play instruments and acted in some way. This bass player did balance acts on his instrument. Just a few seconds after I took the (crappy) shot, he fell on his instrument and it broke down, for real!
It was a fantastic act so tense, so I had the heart in the throat many times!
