Afternoon Delight

Books arrived all at once as they do at the library. At the checkout we met “Hollywood Bob” dressed all in black, with a full head of dyed black hair, and all fingernails painted black except his thumbs. He claimed to be 82 years old, and a former bodyguard for one of the Gambino mobsters and Meg Ryan. A very odd encounter with a total stranger. Pleasant but black.

Back home we surveyed the yard and chased these two Monarchs flying attached from the buddleia to the baptismia.
