Weather forecast for tonight: dark. George Carlin

Today was a dark day for me.
I missed my Mum today.

There is something about Christmas time that makes me feel the loss constantly. I think it is probably because she loved this time of year. She appeared to take great delight in all the preparations and generosity of the season.

More importantly, she was generous with herself and I am very proud to say there were countless people who were grateful for her friendship and kindness.

Maybe I should take a leaf out of her book, pull myself together and look forward to the future.

On leaving work, the sky was black but I saw a single bright star and I knew she was watching over me.
