Arran in Miniature
TT and I both started the day with a run. He went one way and I went another. His route involved a serious hill. I ran along to the fallen rocks and back again. It is a lovely flat route along the coast. The sun was making an appearance and it was so peaceful. It was then back home for squirrel watch and breakfast. BB was keen to practice his golf skills out in the garden while TT got stuck into a jigsaw.
We eventually got moving late morning and headed up to Lochranza where we bought sandwiches for lunch from the wonderful Sandwich Station. BB played on the swing which has the most amazing view and we investigated a big sailing boat which was docked. We headed round the cost in search of a picnic spot. We parked up by a little beach and enjoyed the sunshine and the views. We were less keen on the wasp invasion into the car, which took a few attempts to clear!
We continued on our way and stopped for a walk to the Machrie Standing stones. We seemed to time it quite well as we passed lots of people coming from the stones, which meant we had them to ourselves. BB walked through a boggy bit in his trainers and was very grumpy at having wet feet! We then headed over to Brodick as BB was desperate to try out the revamped crazy golf. It is very popular and was packed, so it took the boys a while. I declined the invite to join them and sat in the sun and read my book. I think BB won!
We then headed back home and met up with everyone before heading out to a local café for delicious fish and chips for tea. Once we were back home, there were more drinks and much interest in the jigsaw – and the challenge to complete it.
Here is BB playing crazy golf.
