France Day 2: In Which D turns 50
After breakfast at a nearby cafe, we all gathered in our hotel room so D could open his presents and cards. After that we walked up the road and caught the open top tour bus. We spent the day being proper tourists, hopping on and off at various landmarks and taking photos of the beautiful sights. It was a fantastic way to see Paris. I’ve been here a couple of times before but I saw so many places I had never been to before. We got off near the Louvre and wandered across The Place de Concorde and back up the Champs Elyse and back to our hotel.
After a shower and change of clothes we had a glass of champagne in the hotel garden before getting 2 taxis across the city to Le Fumoir for dinner. I’d highly recommend it for the fantastic food and beautiful setting. We had a big round table for the 8 of us which was lovely. The children ate things they’d never tried before which made it more special.
We taxied back and the children went up to their rooms. The grown ups nipped out for a nightcap with our favourite barman across the road and so ended a pretty spectacular day.
A few extras of Musee de l’Armee, the archway at the Louvre and D.
