At the Show
Visited the Malvern Motor home Show today in our quest to buy one of the vehicles. We have looked at so many and every one seems to be a bit different. We want one that will sleep four people (there are only two of us but a four berth allows a bit more living space), we do not want a drop down bed or a silly French bed with the chopped off corner. We want space to sit comfortably inside and eat meals at a table Our preferences are not unreasonable. Except most of the motor home brigade seem not to share our likes.
We hoped to find something at today's Show. We saw a few as we started looking that were almost right. Then we found one that was lovely. Perfect in fact. It was more expensive than we had hoped and a bit longer but would be just right Then, J suddenly thought (and we should have thought this ahead) will it fit on the drive where it will need to be parked. We phoned home and asked Edward to measure the length available ..... too short, bother (or words to that effect).
Our requirements seemed impossible. We went back to the beginning and looked again at one that was identical to the one we hired back in May but newer, so a few more features; we knew this would work for us. We bought it!
It now has to be serviced, checked over and thoroughly prepared so it is as good as new; we should be picking it up mid September. We need to sort insurance etc. Then we can start the exciting process of fitting it out with all our things and using it.
There were some 'interesting' people at the Show including this guy wandering around with a parrot on his shoulder! Possibly a better blip than the motorhome.
