Top of The Rock

28,540 steps today............. I know!!!  
Blisters on feet but thankfully plasters were packed :)
The day started with a wedding breakfast with all the wedding party on the rooftop of the hotel overlooking NY.  
Then a walk to see HMS Intrepid, where Concorde sits on deck.
Followed by a walk along 'The High Line'....an old rail track raised above the city.  A path that takes you on an architectural journey of the city, edged with beautifully planted gardens and benches.
A pint in the meatpacking district.
A wander around Greenwich Village.
A smile at the 'Friends' apartment.
A respite in Washington Square Park (home of the 'Friends' arch and fountain)
A visit to 'The Flat Iron'.
Then at sunset a trip up to 'The Top of the Rock' for a view of the city.  We booked it to coincide with sunset, but this was just about as 'orange' as it got.  We did plan to stay for darkness, but after all those steps, the calling of refreshment in a bar was much greater.
