Winter fruit
I’m so used to UK seasons I forget that other countries seasons are not the same as ours. Whilst in the UK, my mum’s lemon tree grows 1 lemon. In rural New South Wales, in the middle of winter, there’s a bumper crop of about 200 lemons on my friend’s parents tree. As it was her birthday, we went around there for food, a few games of cards and some fruit!!! Where they all live is an area that hits low 40s centigrade in a good summer, and though it can get very cold at night in winter (0C) it still reaches early 20s in the day. Along with the huge lemon tree, there’s also a big mandarin tree and a small orange tree. We got some oranges and mandarins to take home.
