My life in blips

By Goretex

Mission Hall, Alexandria

Today we celebrated the life of a family member who sadly lost her battle with cancer. We gave thanks and remembered the many ways in which she touched other people's lives, especially her inspiring work with local children.

Her Christian faith ensured she was not scared of death, staying positive to the end and relieved she was "going home". Although we are sad she has gone, we rejoice in the assurance she is with the Lord . She was an inspiration to many. Funny how you often only find things out about people at their funeral!

Explanation of the photo...... it was taken round the corner from the funeral parlour today and was the original mission hall in which my great-grandpa started the town mission in. Although I had heard lots about the mission, I didn't know where the hall was and just so happened to park my car next to it today!

Thanks for today's family history lesson, Dad!
