Today, we had a visit from the tree fellas.  We'll, actually there was only one feller and my fella.  Between them they felled the tree, chopped it into logs which we gave to our neighbour, and then, with no small input from me, cleared away the canopy and the debris.  Then the rain came.  Hoorah!!!

I'm not usually an advocate for killing a healthy tree but it was taking all of the water from the site, depriving everything around it.  I've had to dig up all the plants to save them.  Also, holly leaves are a REAL pain.
