Solitary Tree, Loch Lomond
Went in search of a change of scenery for a walk this afternoon and drove to Balmaha. The short stretch of the West Highland Way from here to just beyond the next car park area passes though some lovely woodland, crosses a couple of shingle beaches and is never far from the waters of the loch. Very misty and cloudy today so I thought this blip of a rather bare tree with just a vague outline of one of the islands captured the mood.
On the way back to Balmaha I climbed up to the viewpoint overlooking the loch ... a point there certainly is, a view today there certainly wasn't. On a clear day however it is a fine spot from which to see the loch.
