top of Barr Trail

Barr Trail begins in Manitou Springs at 9,000 ft in elevation, and  goes for 13 miles up to the top of Pikes Peak at 14,000 ft. It is brutal! I used to hike it every summer, most often with my daughter, until altitude sickness became an issue in my "old age" (I was 60 on my last hike). Today my daughter hiked it by herself, and we drove up to meet her at the top. This is the view from the top looking down on the last part of the trail.
