Today's the day ……………………….. for formal dress

Nephew William has come far - in many ways - from this appearance on blipfoto back in 2013.

He has always been up against it, being the youngest of the cousins and therefore the 'baby' of the family.  He's had to work hard at being taken seriously and in being given the credit that he has undoubtedly deserved.  But there was absolutely no doubt today, as he agreed to pose for me in his qualified pilot's uniform, that he has 'done good'.  So, you never know, sometime when you are flying to some foreign part and you hear someone say "This is your Captain speaking ……" it might well be our William at the controls. 

Meanwhile, that furry shape in the bottom right hand corner of the picture is Maisie the dog.  She's always pleased to see him and is regarding him with a new found respect …………………………...
