Great day in Berlin around the Hachesher hof, an old Jewish Area now renovated but still laden with stories. A quick dash onto Museum Island before embarking on a superb photo-cruise around the waterways of Berlin, highly recommended.
And a couple of extras ... one of the amazing stumble-stones set in the streets of cities around Germany. These stones have a name, date of birth and the date and destination of deportation of Jews. You can trace their biographies online and read of the everyday beginnings and harrowing endings of so many, in so many communities. These stones cause you to stop, and maybe stumble, to take notice and to be taken back to see real people, in real places, facing real terror.
