sherlock is back home

Sherlock gave us a bit of a scare last week when he couldn't keep what he was eating and lost weight very rapidly. On Saturday, I brought him to the vet's who initially thought, as he found ulcers in his mouth, that he could be heading towards kidney failure. The blood test results showed no biological sign of this, however his lipase level was way off the charts which led the ved to diagnose pancreatitis. Sherlock stayed for a little more than two days at the clinic so they could observe him. He's eating normally and not vomiting what he eats, so that's a good point. He now has a special diet of low-lipid-content food, which Sookie seems to have taken a liking to also... As this is four times the price of generic dry cat food, we'll have to try and find a solution for Sherlock to benefit from his new diet without Sookie bankrupting us! ;-)

This, I think, signals Sherlock's first steps into his senior status... After all, he's over 12.
