Toad in the hole

This toad was sleeping under the decking on one of the supports. Mike had removed one of the planks of wood to put in a pole and there he was.Motionless , so much so that we thought he was dead. He did a very good impression , making himself look as flat as possible and not moving an inch.
We popped him in a bucket and eventually he felt safe enough to ‘come back to Life’ .I took a few photos and then let him go in the flowerbed.Just hope he does not make me job when I’m gardening.
A dreich day, typical of August with plenty of rain with sun appearing in the evening.It’s getting dark so much earlier now too :(
