Monday: Downtown Chicago At Night
K. and I were discussing today that we have set a good pace for ourselves in Chicago, yet we don't feel we have run ourselves ragged.
This morning we caught the train down to Chinatown for dim sum. It was interesting to see but pretty small scale and limited - the dim sum was ok but, to be honest, we've had better. Still, we appreciated the experience and enjoyed the 1 1/2 mile walk back to town.
We then headed up to the Skydeck, the western hemisphere's tallest building. The views were pretty incredible - apparently it is 253 Barack Obamas tall. Don't really care how many Trumps tall it is as I don't think he deserves that kind of recognition or discussion.
We then caught the bus to Navy Pier so that we could go to Ohio State Beach, where we went swimming in Lake Michigan. I have never swam in a city lake - it was the first time we have felt cool in days and was pretty enjoyable.
Dinner and some pool downtown. K. was on a winning roll tonight.
I'm finding Chicago a visual delight.
