Why Bees Have Fur Coats

I think I finally know why bees have fur coats. It's so they can go out foraging when the temperature is 6C on a dank and foggy November morning.

I was about to blip these bright blooms on a neighbour's Mahonica japonica (early in flower this winter) and this bee buzzed right past my ear. Bright flowers plus a bee! Lovely!
