Festival

The Glasgow 2018 European Championships were brought to a close this evening with a free open-air concert in the city's George Square, the concert also being the culmination of Festival 2018, which has run alongside the sporting competitions for the past eleven days.

I made it into the city centre in time to see the last two performances of the concert: the utterly amazing Fatoumata Diawara (pictured) and the wonderfully vibrant Shooglenifty. Lots of hand-clapping, toe-tapping entertainment on offer, with a fair amount of dancing going on around me too.

A fitting end to an excellent couple of weeks.
