The Clouds are down.

I managed  to get out for an early walk today.

Although it was under grey skies the birds brightened up the day.

At one point I saw 5 Kestrels hovering and there may have been more in that family as I saw the Male later and not sure he was one of the 5.

Overhead was 50-60 birds a mix of Swallows ( well over half the birds) and Martins both Sand and House.  The Swallows seem to be local and I think it means they have had 3 broods. Talking to a local birder we don't think there was more than 2 pairs at the farm in early Spring ( more may have arrived).

A Merlin skimmed over the moorland and a Curlew was heard calling beyond a fields filled with sheep and Crows.

No gunfire was heard.
