Manche to the Med day 8

Day 8 Mérinchal to Bagnols. 45 miles today but  somehow that doesn't do it justice. 1200m of climbing peaking at 970m altitude but lots of ups and downs in between and all in sweltering sunshine. Even a mile or 2 of rough track just for fun! Mr PB saw a deer and a pinemartin but I was too busy watching where I was going.  Thankfully that was the only track today. We saw lots of birds of prey.

We are now up in the Auvergne and it's very beautiful. Being Sunday we expected everything to be closed but managed a supermarket and two cafe's. Another fantastic little municipal campsite with  a swimming pool too. A great day all in all. Two more days of climbing to look forward to and lots of cheese shops
