Blockheads

My Dear Princess & Dear Fellows,

Cazza was resolutely in pyjamas today. I wasn't going to force the issue. After going to the movies and having a nice walk with me yesterday, I reckoned she deserved a day on the couch.

Actually, Cazza doesn't call her pyjama bottoms "pyjama bottoms". They are her "bum pants". I'm not sure if it is because she bums around in the them, or whether she feels like a bum when she wears them or whether it is just because she keeps her bum in them.

One can over-think these things.

We've been watching lots of lazy telly today. Australian Survivor and Aussie house renovation show The Block have both started, so Cazza is very excited. Cazza LOVES The Block. I remember the first time we ever saw it. I found a dvd box set of series 1 in the airport when we were just about to fly back to the UK after spending time in Aussie in 2003.

House renovation and reality telly, I remember thinking. Two of Cazza's favourite things.

We put it on as we sat, dazed and jet-lagged in our flat on Rose Street. It was the BEST jet lag show ever. It required no brain and we could easily watch it at 4am.

About a month later we went to visit Bokhara. I remember we took the dvds with us because we knew that Mrs. Bokhara would love it. Cazza explained the show to her.

"Oh, maybe we could put on just ONE episode, so Mrs. Bokhara can see what it is about," suggested Cazza. Me and Bokhara went to the pub.

EIGHT HOURS LATER.

Cazza and Mrs. Bokhara finally finished watching the show LATE that evening. We hadn't seen them all day. Me and Bokhara had eaten our pub lunch, made dinner, continued drinking, cut his hedge, stacked logs in his outhouse* and drank some more.

Cazza and Mrs. Bokhara still talk about it. "The was the BEST day," they both agree.

Right after that Cazza loaned the dvds to Pickett. Who ALSO devoured it in a weekend. She still asks us about it.

So Cazza is very excited about a new series. And one of the contestants just announced that she is feeling VERY hormonal and it is the WORST day to start on The Block. I commented that it was a bit much to be going on national telly and divulging your fanny secrets.

"I mean," I said, "it's not like you get people on here talking about pooing."

Right on cue: "Oh it's all too stressful. I need to do a nervous poo," said one of the contestants. As if by way of reply.

"That is WHY I love shows like this," said Cazza, once she had finished laughing. If only Mrs. Bokhara was here.
