Chestnuts
As we walked this morning to a viewpoint on the edge of the cliff on which Ronda is built we heard the faintest notes of a guitar on the breeze. In a small bandstand, within hearing of the tumbling river far below, a talented guitarist was playing to us and the birds. It was one of those unexpected moments of happiness that come from nowhere and stop time.
Our blipmeet with AndrewForbes meant coffee and a chat in the bright sun and he then very kindly took us to see the pueblos blancos on the route between Ronda and Gaucín. It's a landscape made all the more stunning by the only autumn colour here: ripening chestnuts and their turning leaves. We had a wonderful time in Andalusian villages and landscapes that we couldn't otherwise have seen, and gazing over the Straits of Gibraltar to the mountains of North Africa. All in generous, informative and entertaining company too. Thanks Andrew - what a great community this is!
