Teasels

Warm again today.  The teasels are standing proud above the meadow like the giant candelabra cacti in Mexico.

Can anyone help me with the extra.  The oak trees here are producing grossly distorted acorns.  Is this a disease or an insect laying eggs within the plant perhaps?  Any explanation as to what is going on would be appreciated.
