Big Skies 2.
Day 2 of my series of 2 'big sky,' photographs.
The weather was rather inclement in the morning so we ate lunch in our cottage then walked into Ambleside to look around some of the shops and purchase some mementoes.
By the time we returned the weather had improved immensely so we were able to drive to Hawkshead for our planned walk up Latterbarrow fell.
This was described as a pretty little fell and certainly lives up to its description. The photo is from the top looking towards Ambleside.
Late afternoon into early evening is a lovely time to walk and the views were stunning.
The return walk passed through the hamlet of Colthouse where we looked at a Quaker meeting House, one of the oldest in the UK dating from 1688 and used by Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and other founding members of the National Trust.
A pint in the pub in Hawkshead finished the day off perfectly.
