Leading to high street

Went for a few drinks at the Guildford Arms with work colleagues this evening. On the way home I decided to take a short cut via Warriston Close which links Cockburn Street and the Royal Mile. About half way up the many stone steps I started to regret my decision as the dark closed in all around me. It was quite a relief to reach the lamp at the top marking the way to the Royal Mile.
