Resumption
Normal service has resumed with the weather. Cool air and wet clothes as one bobs out at lunch to buy a Boots Meal Deal, is much more in keeping with the typical August summer's day.
It's the birthday of Clare Fleming née Mason (aka Mase), a dear university friend. She reminded me that ten years ago on another wet birthday, we were confined to her parents' place near Colchester, where we played Doh Nutters, the fast-paced board game where participants don elephant masks and try to scoop up plastic doughnuts with their trunks.
Mase reminded me that I'd had to leave early that day to trek back to Cambridge. I'd recently moved there and was getting a cheap deal on rent in exchange for injecting a diabetic cat, Misty, with insulin twice per day. I doubt I'd be so diligent today. And I regret not blipping at the time as the potential for comedy value was high.
