Mom and Son

These two pileated woodpeckers have been visiting our suet feeder lately.  The 'baby' is so big... upon first glance, it was hard to tell what the relationship was.  Until, she placed herself between her son and me; it took a while for her to decide that I wasn't a threat.  But eventually she went back to the feeder to get dinner for her young one.  I was so happy to catch this moment!
