Refreshments, Beach Cafe & Deckchairs, Broadstairs

Had a day off so decided to go to the seaside with my brother. I hadn't been to Broadstairs for many years so we thought that might be a good place to go. As part of the day out we decided to do the cliches - fish and chips followed by an ice cream (you have to have a 99!).
Now on the beach I knew about the rule of only swimming between the yellow and red flags but not the one about "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU ALLOWED TO LEAVE YOUR FISH & CHIPS UNATTENDED". Foolishly, I did, while taking today's shot and as soon as I did the seagulls descended to try and munch on my lunch. It was a close run thing to try and retrieve it before I disappeared under flapping wings and high pitched screeching.
Had a great day (see also extra shots), plus the temperature dropped by about ten degrees, which meant, with the sea breeze, that today was much more comfortable than any of the preceding two weeks. Lovely!
