I do love a lobster pot/fishing creel - never quite sure. Such a grey dreich day today brought to life though by my mother's Christmas cards.

She mentioned earlier in the week that she had written the cards for abroad and my heart sank. Last year's were a disaster and this year's were not much better. She writes exactly what she sees and forgets that my dad used a number of abbreviations in the small spaces in the Address Book. I am not so sure that 171SthStE Old would be clear to the post office. I had to stop her from wanting to post them today too. That's just a little early.

I got round it by offering to take them home to my post office and would send them with mine - I also swiped another batch of envelopes and will re-address them to save her blushes.

She was enthusing once again about the 'heart throb' that is Andre Rieu. I'm not even going to link to him as he is so creepy. My sister and I achieved our highest 'best daughters' status yet when we secured three tickets to see him in December. Neither of us is keen but she is giddy and knee tremblingly ecstatic at the thought. We will need a very large amount of alcohol to get through the night. However it is always lovely, especially on such a grey day, to see such light in the face of someone you love.
