Greece Holiday Day 9
8/8/2018 - Text to follow and proper photos rather than video still collage
Top left the Hotel Pallini Beach that I had last visited in June 1974 on a weeks holiday with my first girlfriend Annie. Back then the hotel was one of the only tourist hotels on the peninsula.
I had in summer 1970 "lived" in Thessaloniki as my father was working there for a year. A weekend day trip out to the Chalkidiki beaches was a dirt track adventure that required a solid car and a solid backbone. There was little or nothing there but for a few tavernas frequented by locals.
On this holidaý, we used our inflatable boat to travel from our apartment up the coast to find "new" deserted beaches and on the way home would pull into some seaside village or town to stock up on foodstuffs if we were "cooking in" that night or for the next days picknick.
The boat journey was about 20km to the beach we used a few times near Kallithea.
