Barrel train
So we went to the Maize maze.
It's an annual thing.
I'm usually quite good at avoiding the Other Entertainment.
But this year no.2 son spotted the Jumping Pillow... which brought to mind other obsessions Fun Times such as (but not limited to..) Greenwood Forest Park and Apple Jack's Farm *sigh*
But, in fairness, all things happen for a reason. The maze was much less challenging than previous years - poor droughty maize :-( so having other options was useful and.... I was forced to confront... the Barrel Train Demon.... :-/
Essentially I have been refusing for no.2 rascal to ride this since he became too big to sit in it with me, obviously I know this is nuts, but I am worried about him (in no particular order and amongst other things) a) wobbling out b) jumping out c) becoming randomly distressed d) becoming bored and loud and e) *most frighteningly* becoming fixated on doing it over and over and over again
But today I was brave and not only let him ride, but let him ride without me even hovering in a back barrel. OK, I forced no.1 son to ride behind him (despite his embarrassment and lack of skills to resolve any of my points a-e.) I think I've shown great progress. And he had a lovely time. And he didn't wobble out; jump out; become randomly distressed; bored or fixated on doing it over again.
Total Win :-)
Except for the maize..
that still needs a drink of water :-(
