Ouch!
I am still rather behind with my days so this is in fact what happened yesterday.
So the Farrier came to trim the horses feet. Lisa was in the yard with her two children and her van. One horse was being shod another beside it tied to a ring in the stable wall and one tied to our haystore gate. This was a certain persons mistake! This horse got her rope caught over her head, panicked, lifted the 12ft gate off it hinges and dragged the gate around the yard in full panic mode. I was upstairs and could not work out what ever the noise was. It was horrendous and frightened the life out of me! Mrs Tbay and her sister ran through the garden shouting. Mr Tbay Jnr headed up the drive thinking a horse had escaped and I headed to look after the children. Mr Tbay was also heading for the stable yard.
Miraculously no one was hurt and the horse involved in the incident survived with only a couple of cuts and bruises. The Farrier, Lisa and her two children, were visible shaken and her van had her windscreen smashed and several rather nasty dents!
The picture is of the horse involved being checked over and her foot washed to see what she had done.
How lucky were we? Thank goodness it was no worse.
Today has been last day to get the VAT done. A bit of a rush but managed to finish by tea time.
Mr Tbay has had to buy a new lawn mower as his smaller ride on has died! The engine seized so there was no going back from that. His new mower is slightly small but is good for getting into some of the smaller areas around the place. He has tried it out but due to the slight shortage of green stuff picked up only a couple of handfuls of grass!!
The Young Farmers are here this evening using the workshop for a meeting. I promised I would cook hotdogs for them so my house is full of the aromas of cooked onions and sausages! Yum.
