Open Studio at Allanbank Steading

Charlie Poulson and Pauline Burbidge's annual open weekend, at their home.
Charlie's work in the garden is amazing: he has the knack of making plants do what he wants them to do and also uses them as a setting for his sculptures.
Pauline's quilts also show her love of the natural world, and she gets such life into what are, essentially, quite monochrome pieces.
Of course, tonight was party night, and so we filled our faces from the food donated by us guests, and then went out onto the patio for chat, and a little bit of dancing: some Breton, and there may have been the odd joining-in type of Morris dance too, as Charlie and Pauline are members of the side.
