OFW

Manila airport is the first I have been to where the volume of migrant workers necessitates its own queuing system.

OFWs are Overseas Filipino Workers. Apparently channelling the OFWs and speeding them through is a small benefit to thank them for all the remittances that they send home from their jobs abroad. These make up a very large part of the Filipino economy - over 17 billion dollars in 2009.

As they headed back to the US/Saudi Arabia/UK they may have been a bit peeved to see the line for regular Filipinos and foreigners moving more quickly!
