Eclipse

When I read up on internet that today was Eclipse day, but as I was told when we were little, you do not look directly at the sun during an eclipse, and not having anything else at hand, I decided to try and take a photo of the eclipse then have a look at it. I held the camera to where I thought the sun would be whilst I was still under the porch roof, this is what I got.

Am puzzled what that other thing is, does anyone know? Maybe I did not have camera on correct settings, but I did not have time to read up camera manual.
