The Juniors

What a glorious sight.  We had about 60 young swallows all congregating on our roof and aerial this evening.. they were a delight to watch as they practised their take off and landing on various surfaces.  Their constant chatter filling the air as they challenged eachother to races and aerial acroabtics which lasted a few seconds round the tree and back again or round the chimneys and back... they must be enjoying this heat and the flying ants that appear almost every day in my garden at the moment !!!

I wish they would swoop down and catch the pesky wasps which bother us at every meal these days... last night we had a hornet in the bedroom!!!  That was most alarming but we were eventually able to get it outside again without any damage to us... thankfully!! Also had an enormous knees above the head spider racing across the carpet in the living room... aproximately 3 inches across... shudders!!!!
