Anticipation

And speaking of old friends (as I was earlier, this week), my friends Kieth and Angela, and their three daughters - including my marvellous Goddaughter - stopped over this evening on their way up to Arran.

I spent a lot of yesterday washing bedding and, this afternoon, with Milly’s much appreciated help, I set about preparing the house for them. And once I was satisfied that the premises would pass muster - in a ‘he probably didn’t have time to tidy up’ kind of way - I popped out for a run.

And then I was ready. But Keith and Co were still twenty minutes away, so I cracked open a beer and had browse through this month’s ‘Electronic Sound’, while listening to the playlist for this week’s #electronicears

I was *so* delighted to see them all when they arrived. We popped open a bottle of Prosecco and got everyone settled in, and then went down to order a curry and have a drink in Avanti, where Milly was working, before grabbing our food and heading up again. I’m not sure that it’s a given that you’ll like your friends’ children but I have to say that, without exception, I do, and we had a lovely evening.
