Happy Fifteenth Birthday!

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

Today is The Eldest Mini Princess’s fifteenth Birthday.

We started the day opening presents and having pancakes for breakfast. My little toutouwai loves her presents from you Lovely Tea Jenny. The packet of sweets was started before breakfast! As EMP is a mini tea jenny, The Explorer officially welcomed her to our circle with a t-shirt which says ‘What happens in tea club stays in tea club’! Youngest Mini Princess gave her a collapsable cup so she can drink tea when she is out walking Murphy!

Her birthday choice was to see Ant Man and The Wasp. It’s good. The first film is funnier but it was easy entertainment and being in the posh bit of the Dominion makes any film a joy. The Prince and I were wondering if we could sneak out with one of the reclining sofas without anyone noticing!

EMP’s best friend Rosie came round with more presents and an awesome card she had made which was covered in photos of the two of them when they were in P1. She joined in with the usual embarrassing singing and birthday cake. Murphy was quite happy because he had a slice of his own cake at the same time, although he finished his considerably quicker as we went for the chewing option!

We went out for dinner a couple of hours later to Mia Italian Kitchen for amazing pizza before heading home for tea and birthday toffeepops*.

At bedtime, EMP said it had been a great birthday. It was a really happy day.

At fifteen, she is growing up, but if she is still sleeping when I sneak into her room in the morning to get laundry, I look at her and she still takes my breath away. When she was born, someone said that ‘children are never yours, you just get to borrow them for a while’.

It has always been easy to pay interest on that loan.
