Chinese footstools?

I have no idea what these are, but they were stacked up outside a restaurant at Southbank.
Shopped at the DFO. I was going to go to the MOMA exhibition at the NGV, however, when I arrived and saw the two groups of schoolchildren, I decided to put it off until another day  (forgive me!)
