Uniform of grief
It was J's funeral today, so that meant much weeping and a lot of travelling. Fortunately there were also some joyful moments (such as J's cousin singing a song for her that had come to him in his sleep - the rest of the family let him do this with no idea of what it would sound like!) and breaking our journey in Manchester on Monday night shortened the journey south this morning.
Mr hazelh was my anchor for the day. He also did all the driving from Manchester to Birmingham, and then back from Birmingham to Edinburgh in dreadful conditions of heavy rain in the dark. This was all on top of the drive down to Manchester from Edinburgh last night. I am so grateful to him for this, and for all the emotional support as I mourn the devastating and untimely death of my dear friend.
