Green Cleugh
Setting off from the car at 7.45am, I ran round the Red Moss Kips loop. The annual race in June has a bonus feature of a bottle of beer for any runner who completes in a time (in minutes) faster than their age (in years).
The conditions were fine, overcast with a light westerly, still dry underfoot. I was a bit shocked by the enormous new hilltrack between East Kip and Scald Law, bulldozed in to access the wee plantation on the north side.
There was no beer waiting for me back at the car sadly. Infact, there won’t be for another 14years at this rate!
