Seafaring dog!

The local town of beddgellert has some interesting folklore.

The name of the town comes from a medevial age Prince who owned the land the town is now built on. His dog ( named beddgellert ) was left to look after the prince's baby whilst he went hunting. When the Prince returned, he found his dog covered in blood and his baby gone from it's crib. So upset and angry at the dog, the Prince killed it. However, soon after he found two wolves in his castle that the dog had killed. He then realised the wolves had killed the baby and the dog was trying to protect it. He was so upset that he named the town after the dog, beddgellert.
